California-based mining rig designer Auradine announced its next-generation Teraflux Bitcoin mining rig Wednesday, achieving an energy efficiency of 9.8 joules per terahash (J/TH). The efficiency places it in league with large incumbents Bitmain, MicroBT and Canaan.

Similar to other manufacturers, the Teraflux platform will come in multiple cooling configurations, including air, hydro, and immersion modes. Efficiency levels range from 11 J/TH under normal operation to 9.8 J/TH in “eco” mode, depending on the configuration. The company said this flexibility allows operators to optimize performance across various environmental conditions and power setups.

Air-cooled units are rated at 310 terahash per second (TH/s) in normal mode and 240 TH/s in eco mode, while hydro-cooled units are rated at 900 TH/s in normal mode and 600 TH/s in eco mode. Immersion-cooled units are rated at 360 TH/s in normal mode and 240 TH/s in eco mode.

Auradine did not disclose pricing or availability details for the Teraflux lineup.

Auradine’s update comes on the heels of announcements from Jack Dorsey’s Block, which released its “Proto Rig” this past August. Meanwhile, Jihan Wu’s Bitdeer announced delays on its next generation SEAL04 chips in its quarterly earnings presentation earlier this week.
