May 27, 2025

Leading ASIC manufacturer Bitmain unveiled its new ASIC miner series, the Antminer S23, at its World Digital Mining Summit in Las Vegas this week.

The new series includes the air-cooled S23, water-cooled S23 Hydro, and the immersion-cooled S23 IMM.

The Antminer S23 Hydro clocks in at 580 TH/s with a 9.5 J/TH efficiency and will be available starting in Q1 2026 and starts at $25.5/TH after coupons. For the other two models’ specification, the S23 produces 318 TH/s and the S23 IMM comes in two models which produce 368 TH/s and 442 TH/s.

The Antminer S23 series is the newest ASIC miner rollout from Bitmain since the company released the Antminer S21 at the 2023 World Digital Mining Summit in Hong Kong.

“There are more than 3,000 MWs of hydro-cooling mining data centers around the world,” Bitmain VP Irene Gao said during the release. Bitcoin miners in the USA, Ethiopia, Oman, and Paraguay lead in hydro-cooled ASIC miner adoption, according to Gao.

Gao said in her presentation that Bitmain is working to expand its manufacturing capabilities in the United States. As it stands, bitcoin miners are stomaching a 10% tariff on ASIC miner imports from primary manufacturing hubs, namely Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.
