Cipher Mining signs $3 billion AI hosting deal with Fluidstack, Google to backstop $1.4 billion

Cipher Mining (CIFR) announced in a company press release that it has signed a 10-year HPC colocation agreement with Fluidstack to deliver 168 MW of critical IT load at its Barber Lake site in Colorado City, Texas by September 2026. The site is supported by 244 MW of gross capacity.

The initial term carries approximately $3 billion in contracted revenue, with two five-year extension options that could increase total contract value to about $7 billion. 

Google will backstop $1.4 billion of Fluidstack’s lease obligations to support project financing and receive warrants for approximately 24 million CIFR shares (5.4% pro forma equity stake) while Cipher retains full project ownership. 

Cipher noted its broader pipeline stands at about 2.4 GW of HPC-ready sites, with potential to expand Barber Lake to 500 MW on 587 acres of land.

Last month Fluidstack and Google signed a similar 10-year deal with TeraWulf
